Advanced Diploma/MA Counselling & Psychotherapy. Reg UKCP/BACP
Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with the challenges we face. It's easy to say "I'm fine" when often, quite the opposite is true. I provide a comfortable, confidential, reflective space to talk openly about anything. My aim is to support you at your pace, no matter what life throws at you.
I have experience in supporting individuals and groups with a wide range of different issues to include; recovery from addictions (substance/process), trauma, anxiety, depression, bereavement, complex grief, relationships, life transitions and questions around identity.
I provide short term (more directive) or open-ended (more explorative) therapeutic support.
Counselling is not a cure, yet I believe that the work that we do together, can be potentially life changing.
I am a registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and abide by their codes of practice and ethics. (2015- )
I have just moved to Brighton (Summer 2019) after spending almost three decades living in London.

My Therapeutic Approach
My work as a Psychotherapist is informed by an Integrative approach. This means, I work with the inherent value of each individual. It is a conversational, holistic process which considers the whole person and not just their symptoms. There are many therapeutic models out there. No two modalities are the same, no two people are the same. While I tend to lean on a more person-centred, relational, embodied approach, I am interested in finding out what works for you. This will be discussed in the first and second sessions, you decide if you wish to continue from there. We will regularly review my approach to ensure we are on the right track for what you need.
I have an Advanced Diploma/MA in Counselling/Psychotherapy.
The topic of my two-year empirical research project, was, ‘A Narrative Enquiry of Individuals’ Experience emerging from ‘Love Addiction.’ (2016-2018). Trauma and Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) is an underlying factor of all addiction problems. I have an interest in how social and environmental factors can be resourced for self-healing and empowerment, beyond the 50 min therapeutic hour.
I enjoy working with young people/students, having previously worked as a Counsellor in a Music Academy/Uni. I co-facilitated a movement and creative drawing/writing workshop which reached a larger number of students than individual 1:1 counselling. (2017-2019).
I worked as an honorary counsellor in the NHS, Peckham, South London. (IAPTuS) (2014-2016)
I worked as a Group Facilitator and Individual Counsellor in the Addiction Rehabilitation field (Private Sector). I co-wrote a 4 - week, bespoke (Attachment-Theory based) treatment programme for a Primary residential detox facility. (2014-2016)
Previously to my training as a Psychotherapist, I enjoyed working in Production and Distribution in the Film/TV Industry. (1993-2016)
