Therapists
A warm welcome to my practice. I am a senior clinical psychologist with over fifteen years experience of working with people to improve mental health and wellbeing. I believe that we all experience challenges in our lives at some point that are difficult to navigate, and therapy is an opportunity to help to process and overcome these difficulties. I specialise in working with trauma (also referred to as post-traumatic stress and complex PTSD), that quite often come with challenges associated with anxiety and low mood, low self-esteem, dissociation, self-destructive behaviours, and relationship difficulties. I also have experience in working in specialist Perinatal services. As a psychologist, I am trained in multiple evidenced-based therapeutic models which I integrate according to your individual needs. I believe that therapy is one way to enable us to thrive as opposed to existing in a state of persistent survival. Come and be who you are. I bring warmth and integrity to my practice as well as a sense of ease to create a safe and non-judgemental space for us to explore challenges and work towards personally meaningful change. You are welcome to visit my website for further information as well as therapeutic resources: www.nataliebarazzone.com
I draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic models, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Compassion Focused therapies and psychodynamically informed therapy. I integrate these different approaches according to one’s strengths and struggles.
My clinical experience spans NHS, independent & voluntary services. This includes but not limited to: - Running an NHS trauma-service in West Sussex, offering therapy to survivors of sexual violence, and consultation to local services -Trauma-informed training delivered to third sector sexual violence services -Specialist perinatal mental health services, birth trauma and perinatal loss - Facilitating Lottery-funded trauma stabilisation group at Psychology Sussex Community Services - Extensive experience in working with a wide range of psychological difficulties across primary and secondary mental health services, including; anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, Complex PTSD, self-harm and suicidal ideation, problems associated with loss or change, relationship issues, substance misuse, and neuropsychological challenges - Consultation and reflective practice group provision to a local NHS homeless team in Brighton & Hove - Comprehensive psychological asylum seeker assessments and reports for the Home Office - Research and publications in peer reviewed journals
