I'm a warm, compassionate, empathic counsellor, who works from a psychodynamic approach. I know from experience how hard life can be, and how counselling can help you relieve distress, anxiety and depression. Counselling with me is a calm and safe place to talk, where what you say is confidential between us. Counselling is a place where you will not be judged, allowing a space for you to talk about what you want. and opportunities for exploring things that may seem fearful or are hidden. In my practice, everyone is welcome, whatever your ethnicity, sexuality, gender, neurodivergence, culture, beliefs or spirituality.

If you choose counselling with me, we will look at what is below the surface of everyday life and those things that you might not be aware of consciously. In this way, I can help you recognise unhelpful patterns of thinking and relating, and guiding you towards change, so that you are more of the person that you would like to be. Some of these patterns may have their roots in the past, and in earlier experiences in your life. We gently uncover these and together think about how they might be affecting you now. If you are feeling in distress, anxious or depressed, this can help calm and uplift your feelings. Counselling can help you become more resilient by bouncing back from setbacks, become more able to feel without those feelings being overwhelming or frightening. You might want to untangle confusing thoughts or deal with ongoing fear or anger. You may begin to feel more hopeful.

I worked for many years with young people with disabilities, including autism and ADHD, and then more recently with adults who suspect that they may have one or both of these conditions, or who have been recently diagnosed and I work in a neurodiversity affirming way. I worked at a local counselling clinic, The Rock Clinic and I currently work at a local charity for women as well as in private practice. I have experience of working with abuse and trauma and am presently doing a Diploma in Trauma.
