I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor offering therapy in central Brighton and online. You may be grieving a loss, struggling in a relationship, feeling overwhelmed or caught in familiar patterns that are difficult to change. I work with a wide range of experiences, with a particular focus on grief, bereavement and loss in all its forms, as well as adoption and experiences of abandonment and their impact on identity and belonging. I also work with neurodivergent clients, with a particular interest in autism and ADHD. My approach is warm, thoughtful and collaborative. I don't see therapy as being about fixing you. Together, we can make sense the experiences that have shaped how you feel and relate, and explore different ways of being with yourself and others. I offer a free 30 minute introductory meeting to see whether working together feels right.
I work in a humanistic, integrative and relational way, which means that our relationship is an important part of the therapy. I work according to you, what you bring and what feels most helpful. I won't tell you what to do or treat you as something that needs to be fixed. I will listen closely, ask questions, offer reflections, and when it feels useful, gently challenge you. We might explore how earlier experiences continue to shape the present, while also paying attention to what is happening in your life - and between us - now. Therapy can involve sitting with things that feel uncertain or uncomfortable, but you won't have to make sense of them alone. We will work collaboratively and at a pace that feels manageable, while remaining open to the possibility of meaningful change.
My background is in gardening and bodywork - both need time, space, and the right kind of pressure for change to happen. Therapy is much the same - noticing both what is spoken and what is felt, doing a bit of digging, sometimes getting a bit messy, and allowing something new take shape. If anything here resonates and you'd like to explore whether working together might feel right, you're welcome to get in touch.
