I’m Jayne, a trauma-informed psychotherapist and counsellor with over 15 years’ clinical experience working in the NHS, charity sector, and private practice. I help uncover the layers holding you together, enabling you to learn the shadows of the past, understand yourself and thrive. I work with clients of all ages, especially Gen Z / Millennials in their twenties and thirties. Life can be hard to navigate at this age, and it’s easy to feel as if you’re getting it wrong. If you’re suffering with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or the after-effects of trauma, that adds more layers of difficulty. If you’re finding yourself blowing up at people, fearful and in tears, or just plain numb, there’s a reason behind all that, and a solution too. I’m here to help you find what it is. With me, you get to explore and accept your real, authentic self – however weird or out-of-place that person might be. You’ll learn how to take control of what’s happened to you in the past, so it’s no longer in charge of you. And you’ll then learn how to genuinely enjoy life (rather than pretending you are). Both the good bits and the less-than-good bits. If you’ve ever felt on your own, out of place or as if you can’t be your true self, you’re very welcome here. I can’t wait to work with you, and see you thrive – however that looks for you.

I see the whole of a person, not just a list of problems. I accept everything, and nothing you can say will shock me. (I’ve probably heard it before, anyhow). Thriving looks different for everybody, and there’s no right way to do things. But you can learn to genuinely enjoy life, rather than pretending. Both the good bits and the challenges. One thing I know is that it’s hard to be a human in this day and age. There’s so much pressure. Plus it’s tough to know your authentic self, and even tougher to accept it. It can seem as if all your peers are getting ahead with their lives, while you’re stuck in the slow lane. Together, we’ll look at how you experience different situations. We’ll work out the impact they have, and how you react. If it’s in a way you don’t like, you’ll learn how to manage that, and the impact your feelings have. We’ll also unlock your past, and use that to manage anxiety, depression, and stress. Because even if you think you understand your story, chances are you haven’t got the full picture. With a full understanding of the past, you’ll learn how to resource yourself, and plot a path out of crisis. With me, you’ll learn deep, resonant methods you can turn to throughout your life. I also work with people suffering the after effects of trauma. People often think trauma must be something like an assault or a road accident. But it’s not about how the world classifies the incident. It’s how your brain reacts to it. If it’s being replayed in your nervous system, it’s trauma. If you’re reacting in ways you don’t like, can’t form the relationships you want, suffering today from something that happened years ago, or living with addictions or other habits you don’t wish for, the cause is probably trauma. I’ll help you integrate and move beyond the stuff from before. You’re not on your own now. One day, you’ll leave my sessions fully confident in yourself, and trusting completely in who you are.

I’m trained to Master’s level, with over 15 years’ direct clinical experience working in the NHS, charity sector and private practice. But although I’ve got bags of experience and qualifications, I didn’t get here the conventional way. I left school without any qualifications, and worked my way up the business career ladder, until one day I realised it was people I cared about, not finance. I studied for a psychology degree around my job, and then trained as a psychotherapist. Later I studied for a Master’s in Transpersonal Psychotherapy, and later still I trained in trauma therapy, to help people suffering with PTSD and complex PTSD. I’ve worked clinically in the NHS, the charity sector, and private practice. I’ve been helping clients for over 15 years now, and I absolutely love my job. My qualifications and training include: Trauma Training at The Grove MA Transpersonal Counselling & Psychotherapy, University of Northampton Diploma in Transpersonal Psychotherapy (UKCP & BACP accredited), Centre for Counselling Psychotherapy & Counselling Education BSc. (Hons) Psychology, University College London
