I am child and young person creative arts therapist with particular experience around attachment and trauma. I offer a safe and non judgemental space to explore worries and difficulties such as anxiety, anger, fears, trauma, attachment difficulties, loss and bereavement, problems with sleep, bullying, peer and friendship issues, low self esteem and lack of confidence, technology addictions, identity worries, and historic abuse. I am happy to work with children and young people one to one but I also offer an 8 or 12 week programme for parent and child together. I have good outcomes from this service where together we can get right to the heart of difficulties and support parents to a better understanding of their child's inner world and behaviour. While supporting children/young person to cope with difficult feelings and strengthen their relationship with their parent. The parent and child course rate is set at a lower price than the per session rate. I work with 6 to 18 year olds. I work creatively but clients do not need to be creative to benefit from the sessions.
Integrative non-directive creative approach allowing the young client to choose how he/she wants to work and themes that are most important to them. I also provide a more directive approach using DDP Principles that supports parent and child to a better place.
I have worked with children, young people and families for over 20 year and have been a qualified therapist for over 6 years. I have worked with many vulnerable children with complex difficulties especially around attachment and trauma. I currently work with Adoption Agencies, West and East Sussex Council and Brighton and Hove Council, for a family support service, and an on line Creative Counselling Service for children. I have over the years also worked in many schools as a therapist.
