Hi, I’m Mali, welcome to my profile, Taking the first step to reach out and ask for help is challenging, My name is Mali, I am an integrative counsellor working in Brighton. Are you looking for a safe and secure space to unpack life's meaning? Life can feel overwhelming at times, together we can explore your past and present. In my practice, see each person as an individual, tailoring my approach to create the right support for each client. Together, we will look at what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from this experience. I will be led by you, following you where you want to go in our sessions, whether that be the present, the past or the future. I work with adults.

I incorporate elements of Transactional Analysis, a theory focusing on childhood experiences, and how these experiences can impact how our personality is formed, I use aspects of Person Centred theory, an approach which focuses on empathy, self-awareness and creating space free of judgement.

My journey to becoming a counsellor started with a degree in psychology, I enjoyed learning about different psychological theories and mental health conditions. This lead me to the decision to go back into education to train to become a counsellor. I have volunteered with Macmillan which involved one to one counselling either over the telephone, or using video call for cancer patients and their families. I have also volunteered for a local charity called Release, supporting women's mental health.
