Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years working in the building industry. I have also worked in education and have a background in stand-up comedy and performance poetry. These experiences brought me into contact with people from all walks of life and taught me the value of authentic human connection, whether through conversation, creativity, or shared experience. My journey into counselling began through my own experience of therapy. At a difficult time in my life, counselling helped me better understand myself, my relationships, and the ways I had learned to cope with life's challenges. Experiencing the benefits of therapy first-hand inspired me to train as a counsellor and support others on their own journeys of growth and change. Growing up as a man in a working-class environment, emotions and vulnerability were not always encouraged or openly talked about. Like many people, I learned ways of coping that helped me get through difficult situations but sometimes made it harder to fully understand and express how I was feeling. Therapy helped me develop a deeper connection with myself and showed me how important it can be to acknowledge, explore, and experience our emotions rather than carry them alone. This personal experience informs my work, but it does not define it. Every person's story is unique. What it does give me is an appreciation of how difficult it can be to reach out for support, and how powerful it can be to feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. Today, I work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, loss, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, I aim to provide a warm, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and explore whatever is important to you. I believe that meaningful change often begins with a safe and trusting relationship. My hope is that through our work together you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, discover new ways of responding to life's challenges, and feel more able to live the life you want.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and it can be difficult to face challenges on your own. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement, trauma, or a sense that something isn't quite right, I offer a supportive and confidential space where we can work together to help you move forward. Often, the ways we have learned to cope with life's challenges have served an important purpose, helping us to survive difficult experiences or protect ourselves from emotional pain. Over time, however, these patterns can begin to limit us, affecting our relationships, wellbeing, and ability to live the life we want. Together, we can explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion, helping you develop greater understanding, choice, and freedom in the present. I work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences, supporting clients through many different challenges. My therapeutic experience spans education, employment, and voluntary sector settings. As a fully qualified counsellor, I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with its Ethical Framework. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, tailoring my work to your individual needs rather than applying a single model to every client. At the heart of my practice is a commitment to being open, respectful, and non-judgemental, creating a collaborative relationship in which you feel heard, understood, and supported. My aim is to provide a safe and trusting environment where you can be yourself, explore your experiences openly, and work at a pace that feels right for you. I look forward to meeting you.

I have been working for a local low-cost counselling service seeing a broad range of clients with a variety of issues. I have also worked as a counsellor for the BIMM institute in Brighton. I currently work for an employee counselling service, seeing clients from the police, universities and local authorities across the country. I also have my own private practice.
