What is Dramatherapy? In simple terms, Dramatherapy is a creative form of psychotherapy that uses drama, art, music, images— in fact, anything creative— with the aim of helping clients find expression for their struggles, build their confidence, and become more self-aware. My Approach to Dramatherapy My approach is deeply person-centered, characterized by warmth, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. I incorporate various modalities such as play, art, character creation, and storytelling to facilitate expression. However, I understand that creativity may not be everyone's preferred mode of communication, so there's no pressure to engage in the creative process. Instead, I collaborate with clients to identify the methods that resonate with them, while gently introducing creative tools that I believe could offer additional support and evoke insight along the way. Ultimately, my goal is to create a safe and nurturing space where clients can explore, grow, and find their own path to healing.

For 3 years I worked as a Young Persons Therapist at 'The Oasis Project,' where I specialised in working with 16-25 year olds who experienced problematic alcohol and substance use. My role involved providing support, guidance, and therapeutic interventions to help young people navigate their challenges, and work towards positive change. Additionally I worked with young people age 5-18 whose families are affected by alcohol and drug misuse. Many of my clients are neurodiverse and/or have experienced complex childhood trauma. I also co-ran a Community Interest Company 'Stone Soup South'. We provide low cost creative threaputic parent and baby groups. I have run projects like this for over three years and have a wealth of knowledge connected to the experience of becoming a parent. With over ten years of experience working with young people, I have a strong background working with children, young people, and their families who have autism and ADHD. This extensive experience has equipped me with valuable insights and skills to support effectively individuals with diverse needs, facilitating growth, understanding, and empowerment within these communities.
