Hello, my name is Paula, I am a fully qualified integrative humanistic counsellor based in East Sussex. I am able to offer sessions in English or Spanish. I am a registered member of the BACP of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide their ethical framework. I have experience in working with adults from various nationalities and cultures presenting with a wide range of issues. The humanistic approach focusses on the human potential for creativity, freedom, growth and autonomy. Along the therapy we look at all of the experience considering the processes of thinking, feeling and behaviour so I will endeavour to help you to make sense of your situation, to gain great insights, identify new choices and accompany you in your journey.
Counselling will provide a confidential and safe space for you to have the opportunity to talk about anything that is bothering you and might help to unravel your thoughts and feelings. You can explore without feeling judged or censored so you can reflect on your story, it is a journey of discovery that helps to acknowledge and accept the different parts of yourself , in other words it becomes a growing process that allows you to develop your potential in life. If appropriate, I can use creative ways of working using drawing, painting, images, stones, etc if those ways of expression help to find the words to express your feelings.
In parallel to my private practice I work with Carers Support West Sussex and I have also supported parents at Amaze or young adults at Autism Sussex.
