MA Counselling and PsychotherapyCall Now
I work relationally to help clients understand how past experiences and relationships might be impacting current difficulties. Therapy can help make changes to these often hard-wired patterns and facilitate the development of more healthy fulfilling relationships. By building a relationship based upon trust, empathy and acceptance therapy enables a greater awareness and understanding of how and where difficulties have arisen and provides the conditions for change to occur. If you would like to find out more please get in touch for an initial conversation.
I specialise in Relational Psychotherapy and draw upon the philosophies and techniques from Psychodynamic, Attachment and Object Relations theories in my work. Essentially this means exploring the impact past experiences may have on our present situation and considering unconscious processes. However I also work in a more focused way with an emphasis upon the here and now, drawing upon CBT and Mindfulness based approaches. Everyone has a unique story - an integrative approach allows a flexibility where therapy can be tailored to a client’s individual needs and experience. I am a fully qualified and insured BACP Accredited Psychotherapist and I abide by the BACP ethical standards.
I have over 15 years experience working within the mental health field including NHS and Charity sector working with adults, and young people. I have worked with people of all ages and backgrounds. I previously worked as a therapist for student counselling services within two major London Universities as well as for charities working with survivors of trauma.
