I aim to serve as a compassionate, practical, and non-judgemental therapy partner with a grounded, caring, and affirming approach—offering gentle challenge, honest reflection, and meaningful encouragement within a confidential, supportive space. Starting therapy can feel like a big step—but it’s often one that brings a sense of relief and renewed clarity. It offers you the chance to pause, reflect, and work things through in a space that’s just for you. The therapeutic relationship itself is widely recognised as one of the more helpful aspects of any effective therapy. With this in mind, I prioritise building trust and connection with you from the outset. I want you to feel safe, respected, and genuinely seen and heard—where your thoughts, emotions, and stories are met with curiosity and care, so you can explore what’s going on for you with openness and agency. To support you in a way that feels truly helpful, I take a collaborative and personalised approach to best reflect your unique needs, preferences, and pace. Rather than following a 'one-size-fits-all' path, I draw from several different therapeutic models with flexibility and curiosity, always led by what feels most useful to you. Over time, this process can lead to greater clarity, resilience, and self-compassion. This might involve navigating difficult emotions, making sense of present challenges, unpacking your past to understand how it might be affecting your present, identifying your goals, developing more helpful coping strategies, looking into new ways to move forward, and building a stronger connection with your values—those things that truly matter to you. My hope is that, over time, the process will help you feel more at home in yourself, more aware, more accepting, and more encouraged to live in a way that feels meaningful and fulfilling to you. It’s not only about easing what feels heavy, but also nurturing what feels right — a place to reconnect—with yourself, your strengths, and the life you want to live.

With over 15 years’ experience, I’ve worked across a range of settings—including specialist agencies, counselling cooperatives, and private practice—supporting individuals through a wide variety of challenges. These include problematic drug and alcohol use, other dependencies, relationship issues, life transitions, identity and self-esteem struggles, loss and grief, and general difficulties with day-to-day living. I also have extensive experience offering trauma-informed counselling to survivors of unwanted sexual experiences. My approach in this area is rooted in compassion, sensitivity, and grounded in specialist training in trauma recovery provided by leaders in the field. To ensure my practice remains current, responsive, and effective, I regularly engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, online learning, and up-to-date publications.
