I believe we are social beings who heal in relationship with each other and the natural world. Movement, dance, Nature and creativity are important to me as are the core values of compassion, kindness, balance and happiness. Please do contact me on 07954 170028 if you are curious about starting therapy. Warm wishes, Sarah
I believe we are intrinsically well and healthy - it is our experiences and conditioning that may, over time, lead us away from this core wellness. In the safe and holding container of a creative therapeutic relationship a client can bring old patterns and conditioning into conscious awareness and reclaim their essential wellness.. it is never too late to have a good childhood! I use Mindful techniques, compassionate awareness, movement and creativity to enable the client to rediscover their creativity and aliveness and hopefully step into a wider, fuller life. Kindness, compassion , collaboration and creativity underscore my therapeutic practice. I have undertaken Sensorimotor training ( Certificates One and Two, Trauma and Development) ,Movement Therapy ( Institute of Body Psychotherapy, Switzerland) and currently completing my training as a Core Process Psychotherapist ( UKCP trainee). In the past I have also trained in motivational interviewing and CBT.
Prior to training as a psychotherapist I have worked as a qualified mental health social worker in community and hospital settings for 14 years. I have a previous background in teaching, training and journalism. I have a particular interest in issues around adoption, identity and exile, trauma and pre and perinatal psychotherapy.
