Therapists

Starting therapy can be a difficult decision. I offer a no charge 30 minute session in order for us to explore what brings you to therapy at this time. This also gives you an opportunity to access whether you feel we would work well together and to ask any questions you may have. I am able to help with in many areas including relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, trauma and substance abuse. Therapy can give both clarity and choice. It can help you create a new perspective enabling you to make meaningful change. Our sessions can be a space to build emotional resilience and personalised coping skills. Contact me so we can start to explore working together.

I offer a unique collaborative approach in a safe authentic space to talk freely and make sense of aspects of you that may seem troubling or conflicting. A calm reflective space to think about what’s happening in your life can help process and make sense of your current situation. Although I have a particular interest in exploring how early experiences can shape our relationship to the present my sessions are led by what you bring and we do not need to talk about the past if you prefer not to, just bring to each session what’s important to you. I am a fully qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor but I also have experience working with CBT and Polyvagal approaches and we may use this if applicable in sessions. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) which means I meet the confidentiality and ethical standards of this organisation.

Prior to practicing as a counsellor I worked for many years supporting those suffering from the effects of trauma, anxiety, depression and substance abuse. I have worked at the Women's Centre in Brighton as well as hostels for those in active addiction with complex trauma and mental health needs.
