PGDip Psychodynamic Psychotherapeutic Counselling

Hi my names Theresa. I am passionately committed to helping you with your anxiety, depression or past trauma. Do you feel the behaviours or substances you use to cope are negatively affecting your life? Are you isolated, misunderstood, unheard or hiding yourself from others? Together we will work to uncover the root causes of your feelings and the negative behaviours they have led to. Working with your childhood experiences will enable you to reframe your past so you can chose to make more positive life choices. My therapy offers a unique and safe space to process painful emotions and heal. Please contact me for more information. I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation in order for you to explain what brings you to therapy, find out more about how I work and ask any questions you have before booking in our first session. The benefits of therapy can be empowering and transformative leading to: • An understanding and reframing of negative feelings • A reduction or ending of unhealthy coping mechanisms. • More confidence in yourself • Better relationships and increased enjoyment in life I offer weekly session 50 minute sessions and my fee is £60.

I work from a psychodynamic focus. This means we will work together to uncover the childhood causes of your harmful feelings and behaviours which have continued into your current life. By understanding how the past continues to affect you, you can develop a new understanding of the present. You will gain more life choices as you start to heal from the past. I will actively listen, link and reframe your present difficulties by linking your past to the present to understand and explain why you may have developed unhealthy coping mechanisms and continue to experience emotions such as anxiety and depression.

My working background has focused on those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction and domestic violence along with general relationship issues. In addition, I have lived and worked abroad in a variety of cultures which further informs my practice. I hold a PGDip in Psychodynamic Psychotherapeutic Counselling, an MA in Development Studies and a Degree in History and Anthropology
