Therapy has benefitted me greatly over the years and I well remember the difficult initial steps towards getting the help I needed. It is an ongoing privilege to now be the person offering help. As a humanistic practitioner, I am naturally warm and empathic and value trust as a cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship. I am not here to tell you what to do, but together we will explore concerns, identify patterns, limiting beliefs and ingrained narratives in order to facilitate the process of change. We do this at your pace and your level of comfort. I support people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, ages, gender and neurodivergence (particularly ADHD and autistic spectrum), working inclusively and with respect.

I am an Integrative Counsellor, my modalities (the psychotherapeutic theories on which I base my practice) are primarily person-centred, attachment and transactional analysis. Therapy can be transformative, without doubt, but it is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Recognising that we are all unique means I take a flexible and tailored approach to each individual, and the ability to draw from various therapeutic modalities in our work helps us gain the necessary insight for you to build resilience, develop your autonomy and sense of self, generally feeling better-equipped to meet challenges and live a fulfilling life. I work within the ethical and professional standards set out by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which is a reassuring kitemark of good practice. I am committed to ongoing professional development via engagement in supervision, workshops, conferences and staying up to date with the latest research and therapeutic initiatives. Recent additional training has included Boarding School Syndrome (working with trauma experienced by ex-boarders) and Gaming and Gambling Addiction.

Following a Politics degree with a focus on minority arts funding, I eventually found my way into the UK music and entertainment industry where I worked for over twenty five years before taking the life-changing decision to retrain as a counsellor. During my training I worked in the drug and alcohol services supporting clients with recovery from addiction. I have worked within schools and colleges counselling children and young people as well as music students. I am currently a counsellor at a performing arts school. I have experience of the impacts of boarding school, ruptured attachments and addiction.
