Sometimes it helps to talk with someone who listens carefully, from a place of compassion and curiosity. I believe that feeling understood in relationship can create space to explore difficult experiences, develop new perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. I work with adults and children, adapting my approach to the individual. With adults, I offer psychotherapeutic counselling that explores how relationships, life experiences, beliefs, thoughts and emotions shape the way we understand ourselves and navigate the world. With children, I integrate talking, play and creative approaches, recognising that play is often a natural way for children to communicate and make sense of their experiences. By building a trusting relationship and working alongside parents and carers where appropriate, I support children in expressing their inner world and help families develop a deeper understanding of the child's emotional needs.
I believe that our relationships throughout life shape how we come to understand ourselves, other people and the world around us. Therapy begins with talking and being listened to. I offer a space where we can talk about what has brought you to therapy and I will listen carefully to your experience. Oftentimes, being listened to can create some initial relief. As our work develops, we can gently explore patterns in your thoughts, feelings and relationships, helping you to make sense of your experiences with greater understanding and compassion. Over time, this may support a stronger sense of agency and the possibility of finding new ways of relating to yourself and others.
I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor and a play therapist with experience supporting adults, children and families in counselling services, schools, nurseries and care settings. My work is informed by relational, attachment-based and emotion-focused approaches. I have worked with people experiencing anxiety, low mood, loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, identity questions and the lasting impact of early experiences. Alongside my clinical work, I continue to work within an early years setting, giving me an ongoing understanding of children's emotional and developmental worlds.
