Hi, I’m Axelle. I’m a mind-body therapist, and I help people who feel overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, burnout, ADHD, or sleep difficulties find calm, clarity, and balance again. I also support those living with chronic pain or going through challenging treatments or diagnoses. My approach is gentle and practical, using Sophrology, a method that blends breathing, movement, and positive visualisation to restore harmony between body and mind. These simple techniques can ease tension, improve focus, and help you reconnect with your inner strength. I discovered Sophrology during my own search for balance, and it transformed how I relate to stress and wellbeing. Now, I’m passionate about sharing these tools so others can feel more grounded and resilient in their own lives. I’m certified by the International Sophrology Federation (ISF). You can learn more or book a free taster session at innerbalancebrighton.com. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey.
My therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in empathy, kindness, and attentiveness. I aim to create a safe environment where you will feel free to explore your inner self. I will assist you in recognising and releasing physical tensions, emotional blockages, and mental stress. Together, we will work to create more balance and harmony within your mind and body. During our Sophrology sessions, I will use a variety of mind-body therapeutical techniques to guide you towards a state of deep relaxation and increased awareness. Thanks to these techniques you will be able to explore your inner landscape, reconnect to your body and develop your self-awareness and resilience. You will learn these techniques that you will be able to re-use independently at home. Sophrology is a well-known method in continental Europe, especially in France and Switzerland. It is used in schools, hospitals, corporate environments etc.. It can benefit you if you struggle with stress, anxiety, sleep problems and a variety of other issues. Whether you seek to improve your overall well-being or are navigating through a specific life challenge, Sophrology can be tailored to address your unique needs and goals.
My background is in Higher Education where I still work as a Lecturer and a Student Wellbeing Advisor. I have always liked understanding and supporting people, which first led me to train as Mental Health First Aider and complete a NFCE Level 2 Award in Counselling. A few years ago, I discovered Sophrology as I was looking for help with my own anxiety and insomnia. This mind-body therapeutical method really helped me understand how to take care of my body, my mind and my emotions and I decided to train as a Sophrology Practitioner to bring its life-changing benefits to others. I trained with the Sophrology Academy (https://www.sophroacademy.co.uk/) for 2 years and graduated with a Sophrology Advanced Practitioner Diploma. I now offer personalised individual sessions to people who struggle with stress, anxiety, insomnia, burnout and ADHD. I am particularly committed to supporting women as they approach menopause as their bodies undergo significant changes, often accompanied by heightened stress levels and disrupted sleep patterns. I also help new parents who are grappling with the profound adjustments that come with welcoming a child into their lives, striving to help them find restful sleep amidst the demands of parenthood. Additionally, I offer group Sophrology sessions to students to help release their stress and anxiety before their exams.
