I see being a therapist first and foremost as an immense privilege because I get to walk alongside my clients in their life journey and help them understand themselves better. I enjoy working with clients who are 'ripe' and ready to invest in themselves to help them reach their full potential. I expect my clients to take their therapy seriously, put the work in, and attend sessions regularly and consistently, as this delivers the best results. In return, I offer a solid, safe and reliable therapeutic container. I aim to create a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships, and experiences at your own pace, while feeling genuinely heard, understood, and accepted.
Therapy doesn't have to be only for times of crisis, but can help you explore your past, present, and future, unlock your potential for growth, and support you in leading a more fulfilling life. I am intuitive to my client's individual needs and what makes them tick rather than offering a 'one size sits all' approach. For some of my clients who remember their dreams, we might explore their dreams. For clients who are tactile and enjoy connecting with their inner child we might do sand tray work. For clients with a vivid imagination we might do creative imagination 'waking dreams'. For clients where art, music, poetry or scripture carries significance we might explore this in our sessions. While the basis on the therapy I offer will be led by you, I may also offer coaching and a more directive approach if I believe this to be appropriate and helpful.
Alongside my broad therapeutic practice with clients from all genders and backgrounds, I have developed a particular interest in supporting men express and understand themselves better. Alongside this, I run men's workshops and volunteer on a men's psychiatric ward. Many of my male clients talk about how difficult it can be to be a man in today's world. Traditional expectations of masculinity, combined with changing social and economic pressures, can leave men feeling uncertain, isolated, or disempowered. Many also carry emotional struggles they have never had the opportunity to express. I specialise in men's mental health, providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where men can explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges, gain a deeper understanding of themselves, and work towards meaningful and lasting change.
