Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy/ Stress Management and resilience

Therapists

I am a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist based in Brighton & Hove, offering therapy both in person and online. My work combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with evidence-based hypnotherapy to help people better understand and manage patterns of stress, anxiety and overthinking. Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable individuals who appear to be coping well on the outside, yet privately feel overwhelmed, exhausted or stuck. Therapy provides a calm and structured space to explore what is happening, understand the thinking and behavioural patterns that maintain stress, and develop practical tools for change. I commonly support clients with: • Anxiety, chronic stress and burnout • Overthinking and rumination • Performance pressure (professional or personal) • Social anxiety • Low self-confidence and assertiveness • Sleep difficulties related to stress • Workplace stress and burnout • Life transitions and identity changes In addition to my general anxiety work, I also support clients navigating specific life stages or sensitive concerns, including menopause-related emotional changes and anxiety-related sexual difficulties in men. For younger clients, I offer structured support for teenagers experiencing exam stress, social anxiety or low confidence. Sessions are collaborative and tailored to the individual. My aim is to help clients build greater resilience, emotional balance and confidence in navigating the pressures of modern life.

My approach integrates cognitive, behavioural and physiological aspects of wellbeing. Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy helps clients identify and change unhelpful thinking patterns while also working with the subconscious processes that influence behaviour and emotional responses. Hypnosis is used as a focused state of attention that allows people to access deeper patterns of thought and behaviour, often helping them develop new perspectives and responses to stress. Depending on individual goals, sessions may include: • cognitive restructuring and behavioural strategies • guided hypnosis and imagery • nervous system regulation techniques • practical tools for managing stress and anxiety in everyday life The aim is not simply short-term symptom relief, but helping clients develop greater psychological flexibility, resilience and confidence in managing future challenges.

My professional training is in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH), an evidence-based approach that integrates principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with clinical hypnosis. I also hold a Diploma in Stress Management and Resilience Building, which informs my work with professionals, business owners and individuals experiencing high levels of responsibility or workplace pressure. Alongside my core training, I have undertaken additional professional development in areas including trauma-informed practice, menopause support and psychosexual issues affecting men. These areas are approached with sensitivity and, where appropriate, in collaboration with medical professionals. My work is grounded in psychological principles while also recognising the close relationship between the mind, body and nervous system in how stress and anxiety are experienced.
