My approach is down-to-earth, caring, and collaborative. I offer a balance of gentle challenge, honest reflection, and meaningful encouragement within a confidential, non-judgmental space where you can explore what’s going on for you. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, so it’s completely natural to feel unsure at first. Many people find it brings relief and a sense of clarity. Therapy offers time and space to pause, reflect, and work things through in a setting that’s just for you. The therapeutic relationship itself is one of the more important and helpful parts of therapy, so I place a strong emphasis on building trust and connection from the beginning. My aim is for you to feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard—where your thoughts and feelings are met with curiosity and care. Our work together is tailored to you, your needs, and your pace. This may involve making sense of past experiences, navigating current challenges, clarifying goals, recognising strengths, building resilience, and learning to respond more flexibly when things feel difficult. Therapy isn’t only about managing with what feels “wrong.” It’s also about recognising what’s already “right” within you. The intention is to support greater clarity, self-compassion, and resilience, helping you feel more at home in yourself and move toward a life that feels more meaningful, and aligned with what matters most to you.

With over 15 years’ experience, I’ve worked across a range of settings—including specialist agencies, counselling cooperatives, and private practice—supporting individuals through a wide variety of challenges. These include problematic drug and alcohol use, other dependencies, relationship issues, life transitions, identity and self-esteem struggles, loss and grief, and general difficulties with day-to-day living. I also have extensive experience offering trauma-informed counselling to survivors of unwanted sexual experiences. My approach in this area is rooted in compassion, sensitivity, and grounded in specialist training in trauma recovery provided by leaders in the field. To ensure my practice remains current, responsive, and effective, I regularly engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, online learning, and up-to-date publications.
