My approach is down-to-earth and caring. I offer gentle challenge, honest reflection, and meaningful encouragement within a confidential, non-judgmental space where you can explore what’s going on for you. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but it often brings relief and renewed clarity. It’s a chance to pause, reflect, and work things through in a space that’s just for you. The therapeutic relationship itself is widely recognised as one of the more helpful parts of therapy, so I prioritise building trust and connection from the outset. I want you to feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard—where your thoughts and feelings are met with curiosity and care. Our work is collaborative and tailored to your needs, your pace, and what feels most useful. This might include making sense of the past, navigating current struggles, untangling challenges, clarifying goals, recognising strengths, building resilience, and learning to respond more flexibly to difficulties. Ultimately, therapy is not only about addressing what feels “wrong,” but also about recognising what’s “right” within you. The aim is to nurture greater clarity, self-compassion, and resilience—so you can feel more at home in yourself and move toward a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling, guided by who and what matters most to you.

With over 15 years’ experience, I’ve worked across a range of settings—including specialist agencies, counselling cooperatives, and private practice—supporting individuals through a wide variety of challenges. These include problematic drug and alcohol use, other dependencies, relationship issues, life transitions, identity and self-esteem struggles, loss and grief, and general difficulties with day-to-day living. I also have extensive experience offering trauma-informed counselling to survivors of unwanted sexual experiences. My approach in this area is rooted in compassion, sensitivity, and grounded in specialist training in trauma recovery provided by leaders in the field. To ensure my practice remains current, responsive, and effective, I regularly engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, online learning, and up-to-date publications.
